Tata owned Air India has announced voluntary retirement for permanent employees of Air India and has relaxed the age criteria from 55 to 40 to avail the benefit.
In addition to this, the company has announced an ex-gratia amount for the employees who apply for voluntary retirement between June 1, 2022 and Jul 31, 2022.
“Further to the above, employees who apply for Voluntary Retirement between June 1 and June 30, 2022 will also receive an additional incentive over and above the ex-Gratia,” according to the order issued by the chief Human Resource officer of the airline.
The age criteria has been relaxed for cabin crew, clerical and allied and unskilled employees.
Officials said it was the first in the airline’s history that a VRS is also being offered to the cabin crew.
As per the existing applicable Service Regulations/Standing Orders of Air India, permanent employees can avail Voluntary Retirement subject to meeting the criteria of attaining the age of 55 years and completion of 20 years of continuous service.
“The acceptance of vour application for the above benefits and the date of release shall be subject to managements discretion,” the order reads.
