Job Overview

To meet production requirements of Line Maintenance Department and to ensure aircraft maintenance activitieswithin the scope of MOE /CAR 145 are accomplished in accordance with the documented policies and proceduresof TATA SIA AIRLINES.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpretation of aircraft drawing, job cards, assembly drawing, material schedules and process card ofAircrafts

  • Integration and Installation of sub-assemblies using appropriate jigs and fixtures

  • Damage assessment & reporting of damage along with verification of dent buckle chart

  • Sheet metal & Composite skin repair with completing records of production

  • Following engineering drawings to mark out precise shapes on the metal in preparation for cutting of sheetmetals

  • Cutting out the metal shapes using a hand saw, machine saw, shaping the metal using a variety of othertools, including small presses, roller machines and hammers

  • Conversant with Skin riveting and de riveting of all forms as required during repair process

  • Conversant with Cosmetic repairs in cabin & cargo floorboard repairs

  • Finishing the product using tools like grinders and polishers to smooth the surface

  • Assembling the parts by bolting or riveting them together

  • Inspecting and testing components produced to make sure they meet quality requirements

  • Carrying out basic maintenance on tools and equipment and reporting faults

  • To assist the AME in carrying out all scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance work

  • Shall adhere to standard industry practices while carrying out work on the aircraft

  • Shall return to the stores all the tools/ equipment drawn for performing the work on the aircraft aftercompletion of work

  • Shall perform audit of personnel toolbox on completion of any maintenance tasks and shall report anymissing and broken tools to Shift coordinator /Station in charge / charge hands immediately

  • Carries out all allocated tasks efficiently and to the laid down airworthiness and company standards

  • Any additional work as allocated by Structure AME, Shift manager

Skills & Attributes

  • Good communication skills, Knowledge of MS office & Computers

  • Key result areas should be Line Maintenance, Base Maintenance, AOG recovery

Work Experience

  • Presently employed as a sheet metal technician working in line /base environment

  • Employed in aircraft maintenance for 6 years

  • Experience on A320 is preferred

  • Minimum AME diploma or equivalent certificate
