IndiGo Plane Hits Pole While Parking at Srinagar Airport; All Passengers Safe
An IndiGo aircraft operating from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar was involved in a ground incident at Srinagar International Airport after it came into contact with a Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS) pole during the parking process.
The incident involved IndiGo flight 6E 225, registered as VT-NOG, which had landed safely at Srinagar Airport. At approximately 9:02 AM, while the aircraft was being positioned at Bay No. 6, it struck the parking guidance pole, causing damage to the aircraft.
Fortunately, all passengers and crew members were reported safe, and no injuries were reported. Passengers were safely deboarded using manual aircraft stairs following the incident.
IndiGo said the relevant authorities were immediately informed and that the aircraft was grounded for necessary inspection and maintenance. The aircraft will return to service only after receiving the required clearances.
Airport authorities confirmed that normal operations at Srinagar Airport continued, with flight arrivals and departures operating as scheduled.
